TADAOW (Theater And Drama Are Our Weapons) is a nonprofit traveling theater company dedicated to serving the African American experience. Founded by S.C. Stepney, who studied theater at Morgan State University, TADAOW's mission is to provide quality theater for adults and children while challenging damaging African American stereotypes in our society. This theater company also brings live theater to those who are not exposed to it.
TADAOW endeavors to have a positive societal impact and to illustrate that the stories of African Americans are the broader stories of humanity, stories to which every person can relate as well as learn from. TADAOW delights in its status as a new and upcoming traveling theater company and is eager to serve the community through education and entertainment also known as edutainment. We offer shows for corporate events and provide live theater entertainment for individual events as well. Though TADAOW specializes in plays, we also offer one person shows, poets/spoken word artists and a Comedy Improv Troupe (TADAOW C.I.T).
